AI meal scanner for gaining
Snap the plate.
Hit the surplus.
Bulky reads calories, protein, carbs and fat from one photo of your meal — and keeps you eating enough to actually grow. Get your plan in 20 seconds.
Your bulk, in numbers
How much do you weigh right now?
Where do you want to get to?
How many days a week do you train?
Protein, carbs and fat are broken down in the calculator below.
One email when Bulky opens. Nothing else.
Reach your goal, your way
What are you eating for?
Pick one and Bulky pre-sets the calculator below. Every option is a surplus or maintenance — there is no cutting mode, by design.
The scan
One photo. Every macro on the plate.
No barcode, no database search, no guessing the portion. Point, shoot, and the meal is logged with calories and macros per component.
Ready to scan
Example result, prepared for this page. The live scan runs in the app.

⚡
About 2 seconds of your time
Take the photo. Bulky reads it while you sit down to eat.
-
🧩
Per-component, not per-plate
Chicken, rice, veg and salad each get their own calories and macros — so you can correct one line, not the whole meal.
-
🎯
Measured against a surplus
The day fills up toward your target. Undershoot and Bulky tells you — that is the thing deficit-shaped apps never do.
-
✏️
Editable, always
A photo can't see the oil in the rice. Treat it as a very good estimate and fix any item after the scan.
All in one
Everything a bulk needs. Nothing a cut does.

Surplus-first targets
Mifflin-St Jeor plus your training load, then a moderate surplus. Same maths as the calculator below.

Bear & streaks
Every logged meal grows the bear. Miss a day and you get a way back, not a lecture.

Your numbers
What a bulk actually costs you, per day.
The same calculation Bulky runs during onboarding — Mifflin-St Jeor for your basal rate, an activity and training multiplier on top, then a moderate surplus. Nothing is sent anywhere; it all happens on this page.
Staying with it
The bear grows when you keep logging.
Every logged meal counts toward the next level. It is the part of Bulky that keeps people going after the novelty of scanning wears off — and it is free, never behind the subscription.

How a meal gets logged
Three steps, and only one of them is yours.

About 2 seconds
You take the photo
Point the camera at the plate and shoot. No barcode, no weighing, no searching for the right database entry.
-
While you sit down
Bulky reads it
The scan identifies what is on the plate, estimates portions, and returns calories, protein, carbs and fat per component.
-
Every day after
Your day updates
Totals move toward your target, the streak ticks over, and the bear gets one meal closer to its next level.
Questions
Before you sign up.
When can I actually use it?
Bulky is in development. Android is further along than iOS, and the waitlist is how we tell you the day it opens — one email, no drip sequence. We would rather launch late than ship a scanner that guesses badly.
How accurate is a photo, really?
Treat it as a very good estimate, not a food scale. A photo cannot see the oil already absorbed into the rice or the exact cut of meat. What it is reliably good at is being close enough, every single meal, which beats an exact number you stopped recording in week two. You can correct any item after a scan.
What happens to my meal photos?
A photo is sent to the vision model to be read, and stored against your own account so your history has pictures in it. It is not sold, not used to train anything, and not shown to other people. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
Is it free?
Scanning is the paid part — every scan costs us money to run, so pretending otherwise would just mean a worse app. Streaks, the bear and your history are not paywalled. Pricing is finalised before launch and waitlist members hear it first.
I want to lose weight. Is this for me?
Honestly, no. Bulky only ever calculates maintenance or a surplus — there is no deficit mode, by design. If you are cutting, a general-purpose tracker will serve you better and we would rather say so now.
Do I need to log everything for it to work?
No. The streak counts days you logged something, not days you logged perfectly. Missing a day drops the streak but keeps your history, and the app gives you a way back rather than a lecture.
